Synology introduces DiskStation DS1513+ for SMEs

Synology has launched  DS1513+ DiskStation, which works on NAS servers. This 5-bay unit is designed especially for small and medium businesses.
 
Wayne An, Product Manager, Synology, said, "Not only the DS1513+ can be expanded up to 15 bays and 60TB with two DX513 units, it is also equipped with a fully configurable 4-ports LAN adapter. The DS1513+ is designed to bring perfect balance between bandwidth, safety and cost-efficiency for all our users. While reducing downtimes, providing a high bandwidth capacity is now possible."
 
DS1513+ works with a dual-core 2.13GHz CPU and constitutes 2GB of RAM, which can be further expanded to 4GB. This hardware runs on operating system DSM 4.2, allowing the NAS to reach data transfer rates up to an average of 350.94 MB/sec (reading) and 202.34 MB/sec (writing) with link aggregation. It also has a screw-less hard drive and anti-vibration pads to reduce vibrations and noise level.
 
This DiskStation embeds multiple applications such as mail services, printer, web services, etc. It is designed to optimize data safety. In addition, DSM 4.2 provides rich features to boost productivity and simplify tasks, all on a sleek interface optimized for multitasking.
