Synopsys has announced the availability of version 8.0 of its Light Tools illumination design software, which will deliver multi-CPU feature to improve the speed of lighting system simulations. This version also provides support for new 3D objects for easier creation of complex lighting components
The multi-CPU feature can dramatically improve the speed of simulations, analyze and design optimizations. Version 8.0 of light tools has been enhanced with multi threaded capability to enables faster illumination process. The Light Tools Street Lighting Utility helps illuminance patterns on roadways.
These enhancements help users organize and manage elements that control the geometry, position and function of each component in a Light Tools model. Additional tools includes the ability to display true color output in the Light Tools 3D Design view, as well as the ability to concurrently display illuminance results for all surface receivers in a model, making it easier to compare results.
