The iconic blue bird logo, formerly displayed at Twitter's San Francisco headquarters, fetched $34,375 at auction, marking another chapter in the platform's transformation under Elon Musk.
This sale, conducted by RR Auction, followed Musk's rebranding of Twitter to X. The massive 254 kg sign, measuring 12 feet by 9 feet, found a new owner, whose identity remains undisclosed.
RR Auction, renowned for its sales of rare collectibles, handled the transaction. This sale continues Musk's practice of auctioning off Twitter memorabilia, which has previously included office furniture and kitchen equipment.
Alongside the Twitter logo, the auction featured other significant tech collectibles. A rare Apple-1 computer commanded a price of $375,000, while an Apple check signed by Steve Jobs from 1976 sold for $112,054.
Additionally, a sealed first-generation 4GB iPhone was purchased for $87,514. These sales highlight the enduring value of vintage tech items in the collectibles market.
