VARIndia Felicitated the top performers of IT Industry

The much awaited event for VARIndia- VARIndia Star Nite Award 2002, at last culminated on 2nd November 2002 at Hotel Park Royal Intercontinental, Nehru Place and heralded the beginning of a new innings for VARIndia. 

On this occasion, under four categories, fifty-one awards were given away to the top performers of the IT industry for their outstanding performance for year 2002. While, SEIIT, the Indian arm of Samsung Electronics, was awarded as the Best IT Distribution Company, Tech Pacific India Ltd. was conferred with best National Distributor Award, and Best distributor for North and West as well. Redington India Ltd. and Ingram Micro India Pvt. Ltd. were awarded as Best Distributors for East and South respectively.

There were near about 350 invitees from all across the country attended the function, which included Corporates (Samsung, HP, Canon,Cisco Systems etc), VARS, SIs, Distributors (Ingram Micro, Tech Pacific, etc), Dealers and resellers. 
The event was opened with the introductory speech of Mr. Sanjay Mohapatra, Associate Editor VARIndia and at last Mr. Deepak Sahu, Vice President VARIndia gave the vote of thanks to the whole gathering. 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sanjeev Mahapatra, Publisher VARIndia, unveiled the road map of the company, which included setting up a state of the art Test Centre in January and Peripheral Award Nite, which again is an award giving ceremony for the computer peripherals and the vendors, in the month of May, 2003.
He also said, “As an organisation we are committed to the readers of VARIndia by adding value to the magazine from time to time by introducing new sections looking at different kind of information needed by resellers to update themselves with latest happenings in IT industry”. 

The Chief Guest of the evening Mr. S. Regunathan, Principal Secretary, IT Govt. of Delhi in his addressed emphasized on the mass computerization of schools of Delhi and gave an insight into the current scenario of the IT industry in India. 
Other guests, who graced the evening were, Mr. Pradeep Gupta, Managing Director Cyber Media, Mr. Manoj Chugh, Country Manager-India and SAARC, Cisco Systems, Mr. Vinnie Mehta, Director MAIT.
