Tik Tok has now a new rival, Google’s Tangi. The search giant has launched a short form video app to take on Tik Tok, which was the second most popular app of 2019. The Tangi app has been developed by Google's in- house incubator Area 120.
“Its’ an experimental social video sharing app with quick DIY videos that help people learn new things every day”, describes Tangi founder Coco Mao.
Here are a few things you need to know about Tangi
* Tangi shows videos in vertical in a perpetual scroll
* Videos on Tangi can be up to one minute long. The set time limit for videos on Tangi app is 1 minute. However one can also upload shorter videos as time duration is visible on the top.
* At present, Tangi is not available in European Union
* Tangi can be downloaded on Apple App and iOS and web, except Android users
* Categories like DIY, art, cooking, fashion and beauty are designed on the Tangi app
* ‘Try it yourself’ for a tutorial helps the user to recreate and share a tutorial
* ‘Waitlist’ needs to be uploaded for the users. It's not for all
* The app is free for download.
Only time will tell if Tangi can prove a tough competitor for Tik Tok. Till then Tik Tok users can enjoy with their favourite app.
