What Intel is planning for 2013?

New Year is just round the corner. The technology segment remained very active throughout the year. To continue the momentum, IT companies have already started planning to bring newer and newer technologies in the year ahead.

As far as Intel is concerned, it is planning to launch the fourth-gen Core processor with enhanced efficiency and improved performance in the year ahead. Intel claimed that the new chips would be faster, thinner, lighter, cooler and more secure systems with built-in graphics.

According to Sandye Aurora, Marketing Director at Intel South Asia, "Intel foresees a renewed vigour in computing in 2013 in the highly connected multi-device landscape. Traditional input devices like keyboards and mouse will be challenged by new input methods like voice and gesture recognition. Tablets, convertibles and newer devices will enter the market blurring the boundaries between PCs and tablets.”

Speaking about Intel’s upcoming fourth-gen Core processor, Aurora added, "The new generation of processors will significantly boost performance of devices from mobiles to tablets to Ultrabooks. As the world of personal computing continues to evolve, Intel will be at the forefront of advancements."

Besides bringing its fourth generation processor, Intel is also planning to focus on the National Digital Literacy Mission in India to create a digitally literate population in the country. For this, Intel recently took an initiative with industry body NASSCOM and other industry players via its ‘Easy Steps Digital Literacy programme’.  With this, Intel is aiming to have one e-literate person per household by 2020.
