As per Bill Gates, Windows 8 operating system is to be released next month. Windows 8 is Microsoft's biggest revamp of Windows in more than a decade. The company attempts to stay relevant and exciting in an era where personal computers are getting overshadowed by mobile devices.
Windows 8 will be launched on October 26 along with a new version of internet Explorer. Gate further adds that the hardware partners are doing great things to take advantage of the features.
Windows 8 features major changes in the way consumers interact with their machines, and versions of it will also run on tablet computers and smartphones. It will replace Windows 7 on practically all personal computers sold to consumers.
Windows still contributes a significant amount to the company's annual revenue, although Microsoft has grown into much more than a maker of computer operating systems.
