Wipro has recently declared the formal opening of a 2,000 seat delivery centre in Visakhapatnam, in Andhra Pradesh. The campus was inaugurated by Dr. Daggubati Purandeswari, Hon’ble Minister of State for Human Resource Development (Higher Education), Government of India.
The Centre, which is currently operational with about 100 employees, will ramp up to more than 300 over the next three months.
Hari Hegde, Vice-President & Global Head of Operations, Wipro, said, “We have been present in Andhra Pradesh for the last two decades, and it gives us great pride to expand our footprint to Visakhapatnam, the second-largest city in the state. The city’s business-friendly environment, local infrastructure and talent pool make it an ideal location for our business operations.
The company further explained that it will work closely with several universities in the region to recruit young graduates in order toblend with its commitment to develop local talent.
“This centre will support Wipro's continued expansion in Andhra Pradesh and contribute to creating an ecosystem that further enhances local resources and skills,” added Hegde.
