Butterfly Learnings unveils India’s First Eye-Tracking Autism Screening Tool “Get SET Early”

India has taken a significant step forward in early autism diagnosis with the launch of Get SET Early, the nation’s first regulatory-approved autism screening system powered by eye-tracking technology. Introduced by Butterfly Learnings, this breakthrough tool promises faster, accurate, and data-driven detection of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in children as young as 12 to 24 months.

Traditionally, autism screening in India has relied on subjective assessments, often delaying diagnosis until ages four or five. Get SET Early changes this with an objective, technology-driven approach that delivers results in minutes. Developed by Dr. Karen Pierce, Co-Director of the Autism Center of Excellence, University of California, San Diego, the system tracks children’s eye movements and social attention patterns, generating an autism risk score along with the severity of symptoms.

With autism prevalence in India estimated at nearly 1 in 68 children, early detection is crucial for timely intervention and personalized therapy. By identifying signs of ASD earlier, parents and clinicians can initiate effective support strategies to improve long-term developmental outcomes.

Butterfly Learnings plans to integrate Get SET Early across paediatric clinics, schools, and therapy centres, aiming to build India’s largest early autism screening network.
