Andhra Pradesh, Google to form joint task force to accelerate AI and digital transformation
The partnership aims to strengthen AI adoption, cloud infrastructure and digital governance in Andhra Pradesh, while supporting the state’s ambitions to emerge as a major hub for data centres, technology innovation and sustainable digital growth.
The Andhra Pradesh government and Google have agreed to establish a joint task force to deepen cooperation in artificial intelligence, cloud technologies and digital governance, marking a significant step in the state's efforts to strengthen its technology ecosystem.
The initiative was discussed during Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Singapore, where he met Google representatives and invited the technology giant to play a larger role in Andhra Pradesh’s digital transformation agenda. The proposed collaboration is expected to focus on leveraging AI-driven solutions and cloud-based technologies to improve governance, public services and digital infrastructure across the state.
Naidu outlined Andhra Pradesh’s vision of becoming a leading destination for AI innovation, data centres and next-generation digital infrastructure. He also sought support from Google Cloud to enhance the state’s real-time governance capabilities and expand programmes aimed at developing digital skills and cloud expertise among students and professionals.

Focus on AI, cloud and sustainable infrastructure
The state government believes advanced cloud platforms and AI-powered applications can help improve efficiency in public administration while enabling faster and more responsive citizen services. Alongside technology development, Andhra Pradesh is also promoting a sustainable energy ecosystem to support the growing demand from data centres and other power-intensive industries.
The discussions gain added significance as Google had previously announced plans to invest approximately $15 billion over five years in establishing a one-gigawatt AI-focused data centre in Visakhapatnam. The project is expected to strengthen the region’s position as an emerging digital infrastructure hub.
According to the state government, the partnership with Google could help accelerate innovation, attract technology investments and create new opportunities in AI research, cloud computing and digital services.
Logistics and urban development opportunities explored
During his Singapore visit, Naidu also held talks with Sunil Nambiar, Head of Operations at YCH Logistics Group, to explore opportunities in logistics infrastructure and supply chain development. Discussions included the possibility of developing a technology-enabled Supply Chain City in Andhra Pradesh to support industrial growth and improve logistics efficiency.
The Chief Minister highlighted the state's strategic advantages, including its extensive coastline, expanding transport network, ports, airports and railway connectivity, which could support large-scale logistics and manufacturing investments.
In a separate meeting, Naidu met Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-Habitat, and invited the organisation to establish a Centre of Excellence in Andhra Pradesh. He expressed the state's willingness to provide land for the proposed facility and explore broader collaboration on sustainable urban development and planning initiatives.
