Dell expands PowerProtect portfolio with All-Flash innovation to strengthen cyber resilience
2025-09-05
Cybersecurity has become central to business strategy, with Dell’s PowerProtect suite—anchored by Data Domain appliances and trusted by over 15,000 customers worldwide—helping organizations reduce attack surfaces, detect threats early, and recover rapidly across on-premises and multicloud environments
In a rapidly evolving digital landscape where cyber threats are inevitable, businesses are under growing pressure to safeguard data, ensure continuity, and maintain trust. Research suggests that while 88% of organizations expect generative AI to accelerate data growth, nearly two-thirds currently back up less than half of their information, leaving significant vulnerabilities. Against this backdrop, Dell Technologies has introduced major updates to its PowerProtect portfolio, positioning itself as a leader in enabling cyber resilience.
Cyber resilience as a strategic imperative
Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT concern—it is now central to business strategy and innovation. Without strong defenses, organizations risk falling behind in a climate where ransomware, data breaches, and operational disruptions are increasingly common. Dell’s approach focuses on reducing attack surfaces, detecting threats early, and enabling fast recovery. Its PowerProtect suite, anchored by Data Domain appliances, is trusted by over 15,000 customers globally to safeguard mission-critical workloads across on-premises and multicloud environments.
PowerProtect data domain All-Flash: Raising the bar
The centerpiece of Dell’s latest announcement is the PowerProtect Data Domain All-Flash appliance, designed to redefine performance and efficiency in backup and recovery. The new solution offers up to four times faster data restores and double the replication speed, minimizing downtime in the event of an attack. Its advanced analytics deliver data integrity validation nearly three times faster within a Cyber Recovery vault.
Beyond performance, the appliance delivers tangible sustainability and cost benefits. It requires 40% less rack space, consumes up to 80% less power, and achieves data reduction ratios of up to 65:1. Security is also built-in, with immutable backups, end-to-end encryption, and a hardware root of trust ensuring data remains tamper-proof. Seamless compatibility with Dell storage platforms like PowerStore and PowerMax, alongside broad ecosystem integration through DD Boost, adds further flexibility for enterprise deployments.
Expanded capabilities across the portfolio
Dell has also rolled out enhancements across its broader PowerProtect platform to address evolving enterprise needs. PowerProtect Data Manager now includes expanded security and virtualization options, with support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux deployments and object storage integration with providers such as Wasabi. PowerProtect Cyber Recovery gains improved ransomware recovery capabilities, including support for the new All-Flash appliance and CyberSense analytics for Oracle workloads. Meanwhile, PowerProtect Backup Services expands to Microsoft Azure, enhancing recovery options for Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Azure VMs, and Entra ID.
Together, these updates underscore Dell’s commitment to providing comprehensive, end-to-end cyber resilience solutions. As organizations grapple with mounting cyber risks, Dell aims to help them protect critical data, recover quickly, and innovate with confidence in an increasingly volatile environment.
