New "Erase Object," "Isolate Object," and "Expand Image" Features Empower Indian Designers to Edit Images Directly Within the Collaborative Canvas
Figma, a leading collaborative design and product development platform, announced the launch of three new AI-powered image editing tools designed to accelerate and simplify the creative process for India's vast design community. The new features, Erase Object, Isolate Object, and Expand Image, will enable millions of Indian UI/UX designers, graphic artists, and marketing teams to perform precise image manipulations without ever leaving the Figma canvas, eliminating the need to juggle multiple software applications.
The three new features are tailored for Indian design workflows:
1. Erase Object: Perfect for e-commerce and D2C brands, designers can instantly remove unwanted elements or distractions from product shots, hero images, or marketing banners with a simple lasso tool, ensuring the focus remains on the product.
2. Isolate Object: A game-changer for creating marketing collaterals. Designers can extract a product or model from a background to apply custom colours, add contextual shadows, or place it in a new scene, all while maintaining brand consistency across materials.
3. Expand Image: Critically useful for the mobile-first Indian market. This feature enables designers to seamlessly adapt a desktop website banner for mobile screens or extend the background of a product image to fit various social media formats (Instagram posts, Stories, Facebook ads) without distorting or cropping the core subject.
India's design ecosystem is booming, with professionals and agencies delivering world-class work for both domestic and global clients. Reducing context-switching between applications minimizes downtime and streamlines revisions. The ability to quickly generate multiple asset variations from a single image for multi-platform campaigns within Figma can significantly cut project timelines.
The time saved on technical tasks is time gained for creativity and strategy, and this enhances the entire design value chain for our users in India. This is accessible to all Figma users in India on Professional, Organisation, and Enterprise plans with a Full seat and AI features enabled.
