
With protests continuing for the second consecutive day in Nepal, the Gen Z protesters took to arson and vandalism in various parts of the Himalayan nation.
The protests escalated a day after the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli revoked a ban on social media, a key trigger for the nationwide protests.
Several videos of the destruction of houses belonging to Nepal’s political leaders are going viral on social media. Videos of the incident have emerged showing demonstrators roaming through the President’s house and vandalising it. Videos of Nepal President Ram Chandra Poudel’s private residence being vandalised by angry protestors is also going viral on social media.
The Gen Z protestors torched the residence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at Balkot in Bhaktapur. Oli is currently housed at the Prime Minister’s residence at Balwatar.
The demonstrators had also set fire to the house of Communication Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung and pelted stones at Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel’s residence.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Nepal’s Parliament building in Baneshwar has been set on fire by the demonstrators.
Residences of Former Nepali Prime Ministers Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda and Sher Bahadur Deuba were also damaged by protestors. The residence of Energy Minister Deepak Khadka was set on fire by protesters.
