In a strategic masterstroke, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), led by Mukesh Ambani, has officially launched a wholly owned subsidiary—Reliance Intelligence Limited—to spearhead its ambitious push into Artificial Intelligence (AI). The company announced in a stock exchange filing that it received its certificate of registration from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on September 9.
The move follows Ambani’s announcement at RIL’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in August, where he revealed plans to establish a dedicated AI venture. The subsidiary will focus on four missions: building next-generation AI infrastructure, forging global partnerships, creating AI-driven services tailored for India, and nurturing AI talent.
Central to this strategy is the construction of gigawatt-scale AI-enabled data centers, powered by Reliance’s renewable energy ecosystem. Work on the first phase has already begun in Jamnagar, Gujarat. These facilities aim to serve India’s national-level AI training and inference needs, reinforcing the country’s position in the global AI race.
At the AGM, Ambani also underscored Reliance’s succession planning. His children Akash and Isha presented growth strategies for telecom and retail, while Anant, recently appointed as executive director, outlined his business vision—signaling the family’s deepening role in shaping Reliance’s next phase of growth.
