BharatPe’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Suhail Sameer has resigned from the firm, marking another major exit after Bhavik Kodaliya, Chief Revenue Officer Nitish Sharma and Chandrima Dhar.
While the company’s board is searching for the new CEO, CFO Nalin Negi has been appointed as the interim CEO. A BharatPe spokesperson said that Suhail Sameer will transition to strategic advisor for the company from next week.
Suhail Sameer, who joined BharatPe in 2020 as President, has been serving as CEO since 2021 and was hired by Ashneer Grover who was removed from the company along with his wife Madhuri Jain in March on the grounds of fraud and other irregularities. He was earlier CEO of FMCG business at RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group.
However, BharatPe has denied the development. A spokesperson from the company said, “Suhail continues to be the CEO of BharatPe, and we would not like to further comment on any market speculation.”
Last year in November, Vijay Aggarwal (Chief Technology Officer); Nehul Malhotra (Head of PostPe) Rajat Jain (Chief Product Officer: lending) and Geetanshu Singla (Vice President, technology) also resigned from BharatPe.
