This expansion aligns with the government’s India AI Mission, helping strengthen India’s position in AI research, deep learning, and cutting-edge technology infrastructure.
Yotta Infrastructure, backed by the Hiranandani Group, is set to invest a massive $1.5 billion to procure an additional 8,000 Nvidia GPUs, aiming to significantly expand its data center capabilities and accelerate India’s artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem. The move is part of Yotta’s continued commitment to support the government’s India AI Mission, which focuses on developing sovereign AI models, large language models (LLMs), and cutting-edge AI research tailored to the Indian context.
The investment comes on the heels of Yotta’s successful deployment of its first tranche of 8,000 Nvidia GPUs, which have been allocated to AI startups like Sarvam AI and Soket AI. These startups are actively working on creating indigenous AI models, contributing to India’s ambition to become a global hub for AI innovation, deep learning, and machine learning-powered solutions.
Yotta’s expansion will not only strengthen its GPU infrastructure but also enhance India’s capabilities in cloud computing, AI-driven analytics, and high-performance computing (HPC). The additional GPU capacity will enable startups and research institutions to experiment with complex algorithms, train advanced neural networks, and build AI chatbots, predictive models, and automated decision-making systems at scale.
CEO Sunil Gupta emphasized that this investment supports the development of homegrown AI technologies, ensuring data sovereignty while creating employment opportunities and encouraging AI-powered entrepreneurship. With increasing global interest in artificial intelligence as a service (AIaaS), Yotta’s bold move positions India as a key player in the AI-driven digital transformation era.
As AI applications expand into sectors like healthcare, finance, education, and agriculture, this investment will be pivotal in helping India harness the full potential of AI tools, cloud infrastructure, and next-generation computing technologies. Yotta’s initiative marks a strategic step toward building a resilient, innovation-driven AI ecosystem in India.
