Salesforce and Anthropic have announced Claude Tag, a new way to bring Anthropic’s intelligence directly into Slack’s agentic operating system. By simply typing @Claude in any channel, users can instantly loop in an extra set of AI hands to collaborate on workflows, requests, and ideation in real time.
The two companies are emphasizing that Claude Tag is a new way for teams to work with Claude, essentially treating the AI as a team member, similar to Slackbot.
Together the two companies are bringing a collaborative new teammate into the flow of work and building the future of multiplayer AI.
Commenting on the news Rob Seaman, EVP & GM of Slack, explained, “Slack is the only layer in the AI stack where teams work together. Bringing Claude Tag into Slack is about making AI multiplayer. Instead of a private back-and-forth, Claude Tag shows up in the open — in your channels, alongside your team — where it can see the real context of how your organization works and makes the whole company smarter in the process. This virtuous cycle of sharing context, building together, and generating more context is how enterprises will finally move faster, compete differently, and make AI work at real scale."
Anthropic sees Claude Tag as the beginning of an evolution of Claude Code - it makes the model even more proactive, and it works better with a full team.
“Tagging @Claude is now one of the main ways we get things done at Anthropic. Today, 65% of our product team’s code is created by our internal version of Claude Tag. The same pattern is now spreading well beyond engineering—we’re tagging Claude to chase down product metrics and data, work through support tickets, or even help find the root cause of tricky bugs,” Anthropic said in a statement.
