Effective immediately, Bhawna Agarwal has been appointed as the new Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) India. She succeeds Som Satsangi, who is retiring after over 27 years with the company. Agarwal will report to Heiko Meyer, Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer at HPE.
Som Satsangi, who joined Compaq in 1997 before its acquisition by HP in 2002, has played a key role in shaping HPE’s presence in India. He was appointed Managing Director of HPE India in 2016 and will continue with the company until July 2025 to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
“I have come to know Som as a driven, thoughtful, and customer-centric leader, who is an expert counselor and sales executive”, said Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer, Heiko Meyer. “We will miss Som's leadership in the Global Sales organization, but we are in the capable hands of Bhawna, who comes with a growth mindset and customer-centric thinking and leads with intention, agility, and purpose.”
Bhawna Agarwal brings over 25 years of leadership experience across digital startups, media companies, and consumer technology firms. She joined HPE in 2019, initially leading the Compute Business Unit and Growth team, and most recently overseeing Account Management and Industry Verticals.
Reflecting on her new role, Agarwal wrote on her LinkedIn profile, “Sometimes, life gives you the chance to start a new chapter—and in this case, a whole new book. Becoming the Managing Director of HPE India is a defining moment for me. Together with our dynamic team, I look forward to setting bold goals, driving innovation, and delivering outstanding value to our customers and partners.”
An award-winning digital leader and entrepreneur, Bhawna was named one of Asia’s Greatest CEOs in 2017 by AsiaOne Magazine. She also serves as Co-Chair of the American Chamber of Commerce's Global Capability Centers in India and sits on advisory boards of emerging ventures.
Recognized for her ability to build and scale organizations through vision, user-centric design, and technology, Bhawna has been featured in LinkedIn’s ‘Power Profiles in India’ and frequently speaks at leading B-schools and industry events.
