Paytm has introduced a built-in calculator within its payment screen. This industry-first innovation further strengthens its product-led approach to simplifying everyday mobile payments, with the calculated total automatically displayed both in figures and in words.
The new Built-in Calculator enables amounts to be entered and totalled in real time just before confirming the payment. The final total is presented in numeric format as well as in words, enhancing clarity and reducing the likelihood of errors. It is designed for grocery stores, vegetable markets, pharmacies, bill splits, and payments to local merchants or service providers, where prices are often communicated verbally and totals need to be calculated instantly. The integration removes the need to switch to a separate calculator application or rely on manual calculations, streamlining in-store payments and reducing checkout friction.
This launch underscores Paytm’s commitment to building intuitive, technology-led solutions rooted in real-world payment behaviour. It reflects a continued focus on embedding practical innovation directly into everyday transaction journeys, making mobile payments smarter, faster, and more seamless.
Paytm Spokesperson said, “Our approach has always been to build practical solutions around everyday payment needs. We have introduced this built-in calculator within the payment screen to simplify the process of adding up amounts before paying while also displaying the total in figures and in words for improved accuracy.”
How to Use Paytm’s Built-in Calculator:
●Open the Paytm app
●Scan a QR or select the contact/enter the UPI ID to begin the payment
●On the amount entry screen, tap the “+” icon to add multiple values consecutively
●The total updates automatically as each value is added, and is displayed in figures and in words
●Once the final amount is calculated, proceed to pay and enter the UPI PIN to complete the payment
