Showcasing exceptional Indian coding talent, 14-year-old Shaurya Gupta, a young Indian developer and teenage app creator, has built SpendSmart, an innovative AI-powered expense tracking app. This free, ad-free, and open-source iOS app uses advanced AI to scan receipts, extract key data, and automatically log users’ expenses, eliminating the hassle of manual entry.
SpendSmart allows users to capture or upload receipt images and securely store them for future use, such as product returns. Shaurya recently demonstrated the app on X, highlighting its ease of use and practical features. Designed with convenience in mind, this expense tracking app offers a smart solution for managing personal finances efficiently.
With a single click, SpendSmart automatically extracts prices, categorizes items, and updates the dashboard with totals, savings, and monthly spending breakdowns. The History section stores brand logos and receipt images, allowing users to easily show digital receipts for returns without carrying the physical copy.
Plans are underway to add more functionalities, further enhancing the user experience. Shaurya’s achievement shines a spotlight on the growing wave of young Indian developers leveraging AI to solve everyday problems through technology innovation.
