Kaspersky, in partnership with the United Services Institution of India (USI) and the AI Knowledge Consortium (AIKC), convened a high-level closed-door roundtable in New Delhi to explore how artificial intelligence is redefining India’s cybersecurity landscape. The event was held as an Official Pre-Summit Event of the India-AI Impact Summit 2026, organised by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
Aligned with India’s national priorities for Trusted and Resilient AI, the session focused on enhancing India’s AI threat detection capabilities, improving sectoral readiness through standardised frameworks, expanding public-private collaboration, and leveraging Kaspersky’s global strength in AI security, model behaviour analysis, adversarial monitoring, and threat intelligence to support India’s evolving AI governance ecosystem.
Maj Gen (Dr) Pawan Anand, AVSM (Retd), Head of the Centre for Emerging Technologies for Atma Nirbhar Bharat, USI, moderated the roundtable. The keynote address was delivered by Heng Lee, Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Asia Pacific at Kaspersky. “AI is transforming India’s digital economy, and securing these systems is essential to unlocking their full potential. Today’s roundtable brought together leaders who are collectively shaping India’s digital trajectory, and the message is clear: AI security must be a core pillar of national resilience.” said Heng Lee.
The roundtable featured senior experts from government, defence, and industry, including Admiral Mohit Gupta VSM (Retd), Defence Cyber Agency; Brigadier M. M. Ramachandra, Director at the National Security Council Secretariat; and Col. Nikhil Sinha, Director at the Unique Identification Authority of India.
Discussions underscored the urgent need for integrated, multi-stakeholder cooperation to safeguard India’s AI systems as adoption accelerates across national platforms. Participants highlighted that enhanced incident reporting, stronger regulatory alignment, technology-agnostic frameworks, and clearly defined baseline standards will be critical to building a secure and resilient digital ecosystem.
This collaboration between Kaspersky, USI, AIKC, and India’s cybersecurity ecosystem marks an important step towards robust safeguards and a forward-looking national security strategy that supports AI innovation. Key insights from the roundtable will directly inform the vision, roadmap, and outcomes of the India - AI Impact Summit 2026.
