The state aims to develop Amaravati as a global quantum hub, train 1 lakh professionals, and create high-value jobs, with a futuristic focus on innovation, product development, and complete supply chain readiness.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced a Rs 100-crore award for anyone who wins a Nobel Prize in quantum computing for research conducted within the state. Speaking virtually to thousands of students, Naidu highlighted the state’s ambitious “Quantum Vision” to transform Amaravati into a world-class quantum technology hub.
The Chief Minister said Andhra Pradesh would not follow global trends but lead in quantum research and manufacturing. “Every component partner is ready, and within two years, quantum computers will be produced in Amaravati. Any knowledge or technology company must come here to contribute,” Naidu said, referring to the upcoming Quantum Valley in the greenfield capital.

Focus on skills, innovation, and high-value jobs
Naidu emphasised the need to move beyond traditional education towards innovation and product-centric thinking. He pledged the development of next-generation skills, creation of thousands of high-value jobs, and adoption of a complete supply chain for quantum computer production. The initiative aims to position Andhra Pradesh among the top five global quantum computing centres.
Quantum technology with transformative potential
Addressing students and technology leaders, including directors of IIT Madras and IIT Tirupati, Naidu highlighted quantum computing’s potential in healthcare, such as personalised medicine, preventive care systems, and advanced treatment techniques. The government plans to train one lakh quantum professionals to support this ambitious agenda.
This is not the state’s first major incentive for scientific achievement. In 2017, Naidu had promised a similar Rs 100-crore reward for any Nobel laureate from Andhra Pradesh, while in 2018, he announced an award for Nobel recognition in natural farming, reflecting his continued push for global scientific leadership.
