Apple bets on Nvidia Blackwell GPUs for massive Siri revamp

Reports suggest Apple could leverage Nvidia’s Blackwell AI processors and Google’s Gemini models to power a major Siri upgrade, signaling a broader shift in the company’s approach to cloud-based artificial intelligence services.

Apple is reportedly preparing to use Nvidia’s advanced AI hardware to support a significant overhaul of Siri, expected to be unveiled at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026 next week. According to recent reports, the company may rely on Nvidia’s data-center chips to process some of the artificial intelligence workloads required for the next generation of its voice assistant.

The move is said to be linked to Apple’s partnership with Google, under which Google’s Gemini models are expected to provide key AI capabilities for Siri. Some user requests handled by Gemini may be processed through cloud infrastructure powered by Nvidia’s Blackwell B200 chips, which are designed for training and running large-scale AI models.

If implemented, the strategy would mark a notable departure from Apple’s traditional preference for tightly controlling the hardware and software technologies behind its products.

Nvidia hardware may support Siri’s AI ambitions

Reports indicate that Apple is considering Nvidia’s flagship Blackwell B200 processors for AI-related computing tasks. The chips are built to handle demanding AI workloads while improving performance and efficiency compared with previous generations of hardware.

Another reported element of the plan involves Nvidia’s confidential computing technology, which is designed to protect sensitive information while it is being processed. Such capabilities could help Apple maintain its focus on privacy as it expands Siri’s AI functionality.

The reports also raise questions about how Apple’s Private Cloud Compute infrastructure will fit into the new strategy. Introduced alongside Apple Intelligence in 2024, the system was designed to process cloud-based AI requests using Apple-controlled silicon while maintaining strong privacy protections.

Siri set for major upgrade at WWDC

Apple is widely expected to showcase a more capable version of Siri during WWDC 2026. The upgraded assistant is rumored to better understand personal context, interpret on-screen content, and perform multi-step actions across both Apple and third-party applications.

In addition, reports suggest Apple may introduce a dedicated Siri chatbot experience capable of handling conversational queries in a manner similar to popular AI assistants. The new interface could reportedly support voice and text interactions, conversation history, and multimodal inputs such as images and documents.

Siri is also expected to receive a redesigned interface, with speculation pointing to deeper integration within the iPhone’s Dynamic Island feature.
