Two black hat hackers and an SBI official arrested
Two black hat hackers (MCA & B Tech) and a SBI Bank official were arrested by Prof. Triveni Singh under the charges of being involved in multiple types of financial frauds ranging from international credit card cloning, cheque cloning and targeting net banking customers by getting access to the bank's terminal to steal their banking details. The highly trained hackers used modern software to buy international credit card dumps and cover their digital logs.
The trio used MSR Reader/ Writer, VPN, MAC address changer, CCleaner, Bitcoin, ICQ, Telegram and several carding website domains for the hacks. A few from the dark web gang were in touch with international hackers who had captured credit card details (Track 1 & Track 2 data) of foreign customers.
The hackers usually sell these data to criminals of other countries against a commission so that no legal action is taken. The gang had bought card details of European and US bank customers and was highly skilled in making counterfeit cheques.
The country's premier medical institute, AIIMS fell prey to the gang as they withdrew approx Rs. 10 to 12 crore from the AIIMS account. They got the entire data of bank customers and siphoned off the money from their account by getting duplicate SIM issued to receive OTP and resetting online password.
