Broadcom reinforces Its Commitment to India
2010-08-23Broadcom Corporation has reinforced its commitment to India that it will continue to expand and upgrade its facilities in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Broadcom plans to expand its Bengaluru facility to 1,75,000 sq.ft. In addition, the Hyderabad facility will now be expanded to 48,000 sq.ft. It was a standalone building earlier, but now it has been shifted to a technology park.
"This expansion of our facilities in both cities demonstrates Broadcom's commitment and recognition of India as a key contributor to Broadcom’s growth globally," said Rajiv Kapur, Managing Director, Broadcom India. "Broadcom India's engineers are key members of our global engineering teams for a number of our products and have played an integral role in our global business success.”
The 48,000-sq.ft. Hyderabad Centre has R&D functions that develop products for Broadcom’s Network Infrastructure Group, Broadband Communications Group and Corporate Enterprise IT solutions. The software team develops Broadcom's FASTPATH technology, a full feature Layer-2 and -3 networking software platforms for the company’s Networking customers. The VLSI team develops silicon solutions for next- generation connected HDTVs, and also develops reusable IP for many SOCs.
