Dell enables Learning-as-a-Service Solution with IIHT

In order to design and deliver a pioneering approach to their Learning-as-a-Service solutions, IIHT Cloud Solutions has partnered with Dell’s software-defined networking approach. This approach was built on Dell Networking core switches, Dell PowerEdge servers and Dell PowerVault storage. As per this partnership, the Dell’s solution will enable IIHT to simplify network complexity by 90 per cent, scaled-up delivery to match global demand and improved its pricing model.

“We can provide a cost-effective environment to train users on technology that provides an attractive pricing model for enterprise companies. This is because we have managed to reduce the total cost of ownership of our cloud solution by 40 per cent primarily through the simplified management and provisioning using Software Defined Networking and a 45-per cent decrease in energy consumption from the reduced port density achieved with Dell Networking’s Active Fabric elements, including Dell Networking Z9000 switches,” said Shivajee Sharma, President & CIO, IIHT Cloud Solutions.

Amandeep Singh, Country Manager, Networking, Dell India, noted, “Dell’s solutions have enabled IIHT to simplify network complexity and offer highly flexible pricing models delivered through 40-per cent reduction in the total cost of ownership. Dell enabled IIHT to scale effectively and meet projected global demands for its learning-as-a service model. Our networking and data center consolidation solutions with 10G/40G platforms coupled with Openflow SDN have significantly added value.”

Built on the combined strengths of Dell’s Networking, Server and storage capabilities, the solution will allow IIHT clients to build their own training programmes without having to operate a private cloud. Dell was the chosen partner for its ability to reduce overall port density by 75 per cent and switching environment by 90 per cent.
