"Dream is what you see to achieve your goal"

Erode is the eighth-largest urban agglomeration in the state of Tamil Nadu. Situated on the western bank of the river Cauvery, it is sparsely populated and though agriculture and textiles play an important role in its economy, the IT industry is slowly but steadily making its presence felt in Erode.

Three men and their mission to provide the latest technological endeavours to the people of their area got culminated in the establishment of Imperial Computers in 1998. In today’s fiercely competitive global economy, some places offer distinctive advantages to help the business to grow wisely. Though Imperial Computers started as an educational centre way back in 1996, it started focussing on computer peripherals and hardware sales from 1998 onwards.

The mission to strive for quality and product innovation in the field of manufacturing and the philosophy to maintain the standards of services got accomplished when R. Lakshmi, R. Murthi and T.C. Ramasamy joined hands to work together and attain new heights in the world of business. Dealing with 1,500-2,000 end-users and 100 dealers, they are playing good in computer consumables as also peripherals.

Understanding the competitive dynamics of the business, they are now trying to increase their dealers and customers and in regard to all these they keep a track to update the knowledge of any change in the technology in future.

With product line comprising Imation , Sony, HP, Epson, Canon, Moser Baer, Samsung, Intex, Techcom, Zebronics, LG, Wep, etc., they have surely covered a long way. The main aim of the company is to do good business as well as providing the customers the peace of mind and satisfaction. Therefore, quality products and good service support are of paramount importance for the company than mere spread of network.

The customer profile ranges from textiles, pharma, hospitals, small and medium business concerns to that of spinning mills, automobiles, auditors, civil engineers, banks, financial institutions, etc. R. Murthi believes that it is the satisfied customers, dealers and the staffs who act as morale booster to carry on further in the business. Imperial Computers has twenty employees, out of which two are in the administration, eight in the sales and marketing and six each in service and production. To add to the physical presence, Imperial Computers is planning for new multi locations, which are under construction.

The only expectation they have from their distributors is timely supply and replacement of the products. As far as the vendors are concerned, they think that they should improvise on Product Training.

Finally…

It is truly said that dream is what you see to achieve your goal. For the current year 2007, they are planning to increase their dealers and customers (including turnover) by at least 20 per cent.
