eBay has signed an MoU with the Directorate of MSME, Govt. of Haryana ("Directorate"), under the guidance of Hon’ble Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal. The MoU will enable MSMEs in the state to leverage eBay’s cross border platform and sell internationally across 190 Markets.
This association will also allow eBay to access relevant government bodies, industry and trade associations and initiate meaningful dialogue to create an enabling business environment for MSMEs to grow, overcome challenges and to ease the norms for e-commerce retail exports in India.
As part of the MoU, eBay will offer special schemes (pricing, and other benefits) curated specifically for all the MSMEs along with business in the state of Haryana, including wholesale and retail trade. In addition to this, eBay will conduct training, webinars, and onboarding workshops for key MSME clusters for Textiles, Auto Components among others across Haryana, to support the state's vision of balanced regional development and enhancing exports. The workshop will focus on providing requisite knowledge and skill-set about various aspects of online retail including listing products online, shipping policies, and product descriptions amongst others to undertake transactions with audiences across the globe.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Shri. Dushyant Chautala, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Haryana. Sharing his vision of the engagement, he comments, “Our government is focused towards promoting entrepreneurship, enhancing inclusive and balanced regional development in the state. The strategic collaboration will help MSMEs, artisans in remote parts of the state, to overcome challenges restricting their access to domestic and international markets. This will not only give a boost to sales of existing entrepreneurs, but also create unprecedented opportunities for new entrepreneurs. Through this initiative, we are aiming at significantly enhancing visibility of indigenous and specialized products from the state, be it industrial products, or traditional handicraft products, and further strengthening ‘Brand Haryana’”.
Vidmay Naini, Country Manager at eBay India says, “We are delighted to associate with the Directorate of MSME, Government of Haryana to facilitate MSMEs from Haryana to explore the e-commerce export opportunity on eBay. Being a true marketplace, eBay has focused on enabling MSMEs and artisans from across Indian markets. This association will seek to educate and train Haryana MSMEs to start and scale their business on the eBay marketplaces through structured programs.”
