Pat Gelsinger, previously non-executive chairman of Gloo since 2018, will now lead the company’s AI initiatives, overseeing the development of AI chatbots and tools aimed at enhancing digital experiences for faith communities, following $110 million in growth funding
Former Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger has taken on a new role as Executive Chairman and Head of Technology at Gloo tech firm, a Boulder, Colorado-based company specializing in technology solutions for Christian churches and faith-based organizations. Gelsinger’s move to Gloo comes after his departure from Intel in 2024, following a clash with the company’s board over his ambitious turnaround plans.
Gelsinger has previously served as the non-executive chairman of Gloo company since 2018 and now shifts into a more active role where he will lead the firm’s AI initiatives. He is expected to guide the development of Gloo AI chatbots and other AI-powered tools designed to enhance the digital experience for faith communities. With a strong focus on building products that align with Christian values, Gelsinger’s expertise will be pivotal in expanding Gloo’s AI capabilities, especially after the company secured $110 million in growth funding to accelerate its AI push last year.
Gelsinger leads Gloo's AI push for faith communities
Under Gelsinger’s leadership, Gloo aims to create chatbots that include a “safe search” feature, providing responses grounded in Christian teachings. "Technology has the power to connect, uplift, and transform lives—but only when built with purpose," Gelsinger said in a statement. His leadership comes at a time when faith-based organizations are increasingly turning to digital tools to engage with their communities, and Gelsinger’s vision for AI will ensure Gloo remains at the forefront of this movement.
The appointment also follows a period of transition at Intel. After Gelsinger’s departure, Intel named Lip-Bu Tan as the new CEO. Tan, a chip industry veteran and former board member, takes over the role after Intel faced challenges with Gelsinger’s costly turnaround strategy, which had faltered, diminishing investor confidence.
As Gelsinger joins Gloo, his extensive experience in technology and leadership is expected to drive significant innovation, particularly in the area of AI-driven solutions for faith-based organizations, setting the stage for the next evolution of technology in the religious sector.
