HDFC Securities joins hands with Oracle
HDFC Securities has implemented Oracle SuperCluster to help ensure high availability for its online trading platform and support its rapidly-growing customer base and daily transaction load. The company had purchased the Oracle SuperCluster in August 2012.
Oracle SuperCluster has accelerated throughput performance by 3x, increased online trading speed by up to 60%, and enabled HDFC to produce reports 67% faster while reducing risk and cutting data center costs.
Oracle SuperCluster has enabled the company to achieve extreme performance and provide a highly available, scalable, and secure online trading platform to meet the time-critical requirements of the financial market. HDFC Securities was also able to consolidate 30 servers and two storage systems onto a single Oracle SuperCluster.
With Oracle SuperCluster, HDFC Securities can now easily process more than 200,000 trade transactions at peak hours and has achieved subsecond response times for more than 10,000 concurrent users.
By implementing Oracle SuperCluster, HDFC Securities has experienced near 100% uptime during trading hours since implementation, and the system has had no single point of failure.It also helps HDFC Securities to resolve issues while saving time, lowering costs and at the same time streamlining vendor coordination.

HDFC Securities engaged Oracle partner, Tata Consultancy Services, also HSL’s core securities trading and processing solution vendor, to assist with its Oracle SuperCluster implementation. The company completed the initiative on time and within budget and upon go live, the online trading platform ran flawlessly on Oracle SuperCluster.
