The Christie Griffyn 4K50-RGB projector delivers 50,000 lumens brightness, near-98% Rec. 2020 color gamut, and native 4K resolution, operating quietly at 54dBA while LiteLOC technology ensures consistent color and brightness under varying ambient conditions
Singapore-based Hexogon Group has set a global milestone with the world’s largest single acquisition of Christie Griffyn 4K50-RGB pure laser projectors, cementing its position as one of Asia’s leading rental and staging companies. The move also makes Hexogon one of the biggest owners of Christie’s flagship high-brightness projection fleet worldwide.
Strategic investment in next-generation projection technology
Known for its award-winning projection mapping projects across Asia, Hexogon has transitioned fully from lamp-based to laser projection through this investment. The company said the purchase reflects its commitment to sustainability while enhancing its ability to deliver large-scale, world-class visual experiences.
Adrian Goh, Managing Director of Hexogon Group, said the decision followed extensive testing of the Griffyn 4K50-RGB at various events. “Its performance, reliability, and color accuracy exceeded expectations. Moving to laser illumination strengthens our environmental responsibility while equipping us to undertake even larger projects across Asia,” he said, adding that Hexogon plans to expand its Griffyn inventory further in the coming year.
Christie’s flagship projection capabilities
The Christie Griffyn 4K50-RGB delivers 50,000 lumens of brightness, nearly 98% of the Rec. 2020 color gamut, and native 4K resolution. Despite its power, the projector operates at just 54dBA, making it suitable for high-demand environments. With embedded LiteLOC technology, it maintains consistent color and brightness even under changing ambient conditions.
Designed for flexibility, the system supports omnidirectional operation, versatile connectivity, and remote-controlled electronic color convergence for precise alignment. It also enables high frame rate playback of up to 120Hz in 4K and 480Hz in 2K, making it ideal for dynamic live events. With an efficiency of 13.2 lumens per watt, the Griffyn 4K50-RGB also stands out as one of the most energy-efficient projectors in its category.
Expanding regional reach
Hexogon has delivered Christie-powered visuals for numerous landmark occasions, including setting a Guinness World Record for brightness during the 2015 Southeast Asian sporting event. With offices across Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and the Philippines, the group is scaling its capabilities for international projects.
Han Kim, Vice President of Sales, Asia-Pacific at Christie, welcomed the development. “Our partnership with Hexogon spans more than a decade. This investment will allow them to push projection mapping boundaries even further, and we are proud to support their vision.”
