HIKMICRO Eco Series Offers Compact Thermal Imaging with SuperIR

HIKMICRO’s Eco series comprises two compact handheld thermal cameras, Eco and Eco-V, designed for entry-level inspections in homes, buildings and industrial environments. The range supports troubleshooting of electrical appliances, heating, cooling, ventilation and plumbing systems, alongside checks for insulation problems and water damage.

Both models offer a native thermal resolution of 96 × 96 pixels, or 9,216 pixels. HIKMICRO’s SuperIR image enhancement technology upscales thermal images to 240 × 240 pixels, or 57,600 pixels, in live view and stored images. A 25 Hz refresh rate supports smooth viewing during inspections.

Thermal Imaging and Temperature Measurement

The Eco’s 50° wide-angle lens allows users to scan larger areas for temperature differences associated with air leaks, water leaks and insulation issues. The camera stores radiometric thermal images and supports full-screen temperature measurement, with automatic tracking of maximum, minimum and average values to identify anomalies.

The stated measurement range extends from -20 °C to 550 °C, with accuracy of up to ±2 °C or ±2% of the reading. Central spot, hot spot and cold spot measurement presets are also available.

Storage, Durability and Battery Life

The series includes a laser pointer and 4GB of flash memory, providing storage for up to 30,000 thermal images. Seven colour palettes include White Hot, Black Hot, Rainbow, Ironbow, Redhot, Fusion and Above Alarm.

According to HIKMICRO, the cameras have an IP54 rating, withstand drops from up to two metres and carry a three-year warranty. A built-in 3350 mAh lithium-ion battery supports up to eight hours of continuous operation, with automatic shutdown settings of five, 10 or 20 minutes.

Eco-V Adds Visual Imaging

The Eco-V adds a 640 × 480 visual camera alongside its infrared lens. Users can switch between thermal, visible and fusion modes, with fusion combining visual details and thermal information for clearer inspection images.

A single click saves visual and thermal images simultaneously, supporting inspection reporting. Beyond maintenance and building checks, the supplied application list includes locating hidden pets in darkness and identifying objects through noticeable temperature differences. These functions help users document findings during routine on-site inspections.
