New Delhi is set to host some of the world’s most influential technology and political leaders at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam. The event is expected to draw over 35,000 participants from around the globe, underscoring India’s growing role in shaping the global artificial intelligence agenda.
Among the prominent industry leaders expected to attend are Sundar Pichai of Google and Sam Altman of OpenAI. Other major names include Jensen Huang of Nvidia, Demis Hassabis, Bill Gates, Dario Amodei, and Cristiano Amon, among others from global technology and business circles.
Focus on AI governance and global cooperation
The summit aims to serve as a global platform focused on translating AI innovation into measurable economic and social impact. Organisers say discussions will centre on governance frameworks, responsible AI deployment, and cross-border collaboration, aligning with India’s vision of inclusive technological growth.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will formally inaugurate the summit on February 19 and is expected to host a CEO roundtable the same day. Political leaders including Emmanuel Macron, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, and David Lammy are also anticipated to attend.
City preparations in full swing
The New Delhi Municipal Council has intensified preparations across key areas of Lutyens’ Delhi. Authorities have identified 41 priority routes for enhanced sanitation, improved lighting, and road maintenance. Measures include installation of lane markers, upgraded street lighting, and special cleanliness drives to ensure the capital presents a polished appearance for the international gathering.
The India AI Impact Summit marks the fourth major global AI summit, following earlier editions in the United Kingdom, South Korea, and France, reinforcing India’s expanding influence in global AI discourse.
