Indian Tech Industry lost a good friend, Lux Rao
Laxminarayan Rao is popularly recognised as Lux Rao, was a great human being. Suddenly, a news was broken today morning that he couldn’t win his battle with Cancer and succumbed last night. He was working as the Senior Director and Leader of NTT - Solutions, Consulting & Digital Transformation.
My interaction with Lux started from the company Xerox in the year 1995 then Canon office in New Delhi. He was a
true friend of VARINDIA and his contribution for our publication will be remembered for ever.
Lux has been a leader in the space of
Digital Transformation Initiatives and his responsibility lies in understanding the technological landscape in order to gauge the magnitude of the innovative possibilities that we have at our disposal.
As a passionate technology evangelist, I have authored several whitepapers on Green IT, Cloud Computing and have been invited at various forums for emerging technologies as chairperson, moderator and speaker. I have also been recognized by various institutions and have been the proud recipient of 7 National and International awards during my current role.
Prior to joining Cisco, Lux was the CTO for Enterprise Business and leader for HPE Future Cities’ initiatives. Leading a cross functional team, Lux worked closely with Governments at the Centre & State as also an eco-system of partners to present a compelling value proposition. As a CTO, Lux worked closely with Clients helping them make the journey to a New Style of IT. He was also the Marketing Director for Jamcracker Inc responsible for managing Global Channels. His role involved driving Cloud initiatives for managing Enterprise Cloud migration, devising & driving product marketing.
Prior to that Lux was the channel leader for Lotus/WPLC portfolio at IBM South Asia and Business leader for Value Solutions’ portfolio at Canon Singapore. Lux has over 25 years of experience in multifarious roles spanning IT Hardware & Software Solutions, Sales, Channel Management, Product Management, Product Support, Pre-sales, Competency Development and Customer Service in Organizations such as IBM, Canon & Xerox.
Lux is a regular speaker at Cloud computing conferences and has chaired / moderated several conferences including INTEROP, Cloud Summit, VARINDIA Cloud Conferences, Channel Summits, IET SaaS & Cloud conferences.
We at VARINDIA stands solidarity for the sudden death of Lux Rao and pray for his family to bring strength and courage to bear the irreparable loss.
