Ingram Micro recently organized XConnect Mumbai 2026, an event centering around Powering the Future of AI-driven Technology ecosystems. It served as a strategic platform connecting channel partners with leading OEMs, while highlighting the company's evolution from a traditional IT distributor into an AI and ML-powered platform company.
Through thought leadership sessions, technology showcases, and partner interactions, XConnect presented before the channel ecosystem avenues and opportunities on how partners can harness AI to unlock new growth opportunities. At the same time, the event highlighted the critical role partners play in enabling businesses to thrive in an increasingly intelligent and connected world.
Addressing the audience, Ankesh Kumar, Director & Chief of Marketing, Ingram Micro India said, “We are living in a very interesting time, with a lot of uncertainties happening. We really don't know what will happen next, or what kind of tech revolution will take place next. At the same time, a lot of things are happening in geopolitics resulting in overall supply chain disruptions. We are living in a network economy. This is a time where digital technology is literally touching all aspect of business, society, as well as humanity.”

Sharing his perspective about Ingram’s India journey, Flavio Moraes Junior, MD & Chief Country Executive for India said, “I want to first thank our partner community, for your trust, belief, your support that you have showered throughout Ingram Micro’s journey. Over the last three decades, we have grown together along with our partners, empowering India’s IT ecosystem with speed, scale and service. We will continue to invest in our operations, our capability, and most importantly, our people. India is one of the most strategic markets to Ingram Micro globally. Our long-term commitment to the market is strong because we see a tremendous opportunity to create value together for our partners, our vendors, our customers, and our associates.”
Joining an insightful fireside chat during the session and speaking about the real essence of AI, Sanjib Sahoo, President, Global Platform Group, Ingram Micro said, “India has a strategic role to play, not only as a high-growth market but also as a global talent and innovation hub for the next phase of platform-led transformation. The word AI has two words - Artificial intelligence. I feel we talk a lot about the Artificial part of it, but we don't stress enough about Intelligence. If you look at it, AI started in 1950. The first chatbot was created in 1960 and we still have changes coming in due to AI. However, in this era of AI, what is really changing is the way AI is democratizing expertise and intelligence.
Every era had some kind of a corporate system. If you look at the industrial era, there were factories; in the internet era, there were websites. Every business feel that AI is very cool, but the real challenge is how to drive value with AI, the value by which we can actually learn to change our business, connect our models, and really make sure that understanding expertise will become a commodity with AI.”
