The two Indian firms have entered a strategic partnership to expand indigenous semiconductor manufacturing, combining fabless design expertise with foundry and packaging capabilities to serve automotive, industrial and other global sectors.
L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited (LTSCT), a leading Indian fabless semiconductor company, and Tata Electronics, a major player in India's electronics and semiconductor manufacturing sector, have announced a strategic partnership aimed at expanding indigenous manufacturing of chip products in India for global customers. The alliance seeks to build domestic design and manufacturing capabilities to support next-generation products across automotive, industrial, communications, security and intelligent-edge sectors.
Combining design strength with manufacturing capabilities
The partnership brings together LTSCT's fabless design innovation with Tata Electronics' semiconductor packaging and foundry capabilities to strengthen domestic chip manufacturing. As part of the arrangement, the two companies will jointly explore chip fabrication and packaging opportunities for LTSCT's current and future product lines, drawing on Tata Electronics' range of fab process technologies and packaging solutions. The collaboration will also extend to optimising the journey from chip design to fabrication, with an emphasis on efficient manufacturing at scale.
