Leveraging a deep understanding of the local market, Sanjiv Kela, Founder - MD & Sumeet Kela, Founder - Director – Net Protector Anti Virus (NPAV) tells VARINDIA of how the brand differentiates itself through solutions, backed by round-the-clock customer support and an extensive partner network.
Net Protector has emerged as a trusted "Made in India" cybersecurity brand. What has been the key philosophy behind building indigenous security solutions that address India's unique cyber challenges?
NPAV’s philosophy has always been rooted in the belief that India's digital landscape requires cybersecurity solutions built specifically for its unique scale, diversity, and rapidly evolving digital ecosystem. India's IT environment differs significantly from global markets, and so do its cybersecurity challenges. From the beginning, we recognized that Indian businesses—particularly MSMEs—as well as individual users need security solutions that are powerful, lightweight, affordable, and easy to deploy.
At NPAV, our guiding principle has always been to deliver maximum protection without compromising system performance. By designing and developing our core technologies entirely in Pune, India, we maintain complete control over innovation and can respond quickly to emerging threats. This enables us to build security solutions that effectively counter localized cyber threats while meeting global cybersecurity standards.
How does NPAV differentiate itself from global cybersecurity vendors while strengthening customer trust and contributing to India's vision of digital sovereignty?
What differentiates NPAV from global cybersecurity vendors is our deep understanding of the Indian market and our close proximity to our customers. While many international solutions are designed primarily for Western markets, our products are engineered specifically to perform efficiently across India's diverse infrastructure, internet conditions, and hardware environments. Customer trust is built on reliability, transparency, and accessibility. We provide dedicated 24×7 technical and commercial support through our extensive partner network across India, ensuring customers receive prompt assistance whenever they need it. As an indigenous cybersecurity company, we strongly support India's vision of digital sovereignty. By developing cybersecurity solutions within India, we help ensure that sensitive data, threat intelligence, and security telemetry remain under Indian control, which is increasingly important for national security and strategic digital independence.
How is NPAV innovating its products to safeguard Indian enterprises, government organizations, and critical infrastructure?
The cyber threat landscape has evolved dramatically, with attackers increasingly leveraging artificial intelligence to launch sophisticated ransomware, zero-day exploits, and advanced persistent threats.
To stay ahead, NPAV has integrated advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning into its security architecture through our proprietary ZeroV DeepLearn AI technology. Rather than relying solely on traditional signature-based detection, our solutions use real-time behavioral analysis, heuristic detection, and AI-driven threat intelligence to proactively identify and block previously unknown threats before they can execute.
Our enterprise solutions—including Endpoint Security and Z Security—provide multi-layered protection with capabilities such as ransomware defense, data loss prevention, secure cloud backup, device control, vulnerability management, and centralized security management.
How does NPAV's "Made in India" approach support national cybersecurity, data sovereignty, and the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat?
Cybersecurity has become an essential pillar of national security. Dependence on foreign technologies to protect critical digital infrastructure can introduce strategic risks. NPAV embodies the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat by demonstrating that world-class cybersecurity solutions can be researched, developed, and continuously enhanced entirely in India. By building our own proprietary security technologies, threat intelligence, and detection algorithms, we reduce dependence on external platforms while ensuring greater control over cybersecurity operations. This approach strengthens data sovereignty, supports the growth of India's cybersecurity ecosystem, creates high-value technology jobs, and contributes to building a resilient digital future for the nation.

Net Protector Cybersecurity
As the CEO of Net Protector, what is your vision for the company's next phase of growth, and how do you see NPAV shaping the future of cybersecurity in India while expanding its global footprint?
Our long-term vision, inspired by our Founder and Managing Director, Mr. Sanjiv Kela, is to transform NPAV from a leading endpoint security provider into a globally recognized cybersecurity and digital trust company. In India, we are making significant investments in next-generation technologies, including Zero Trust Security, AI-powered threat detection, cloud security, Extended Detection and Response (XDR), and advanced endpoint protection to support the country's rapidly growing digital economy.
Internationally, we see tremendous opportunities across emerging markets in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. Our goal is to deliver scalable, affordable, and enterprise-grade "Made in India" cybersecurity solutions worldwide while demonstrating that Indian cybersecurity innovation can compete with the world's best.
Cybersecurity Suite for BFSI
Net Protector (NPAV) offers an integrated cybersecurity suite to help BFSI organizations strengthen cyber resilience, protect critical data, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain business continuity.
The portfolio includes Krypton Enterprise Backup, Krypton Firewall Log & Access BFSI Audit, Krypton Enterprise AI Insight, and Krypton Encryption Manager, delivering backup, audit, AI- driven security insights, and encryption.
Together, these solutions provide a strong foundation for data protection, compliance, and operational resilience, while organizations should complement them with capabilities for AI-driven identity fraud, deepfake detection, and privacy governance to address emerging cyber threats.
COMPROMISED CREDENTIALS:
Net Protector (NPAV) addresses identity-based threats through a layered approach combining Krypton Enterprise AI Insight (KEAI)and Krypton Firewall Log & Access BFSI Audit (KFLA). KEAI uses AI-driven behavioral analytics to establish normal user activity and detect anomalies such as unusual login times, devices, locations, or access patterns. KFLA centralizes and monitors firewall and access logs for real-time visibility across the enterprise. Additionally, NPAV's AV-Test Advanced Certified endpoint protection helps prevent credential theft by blocking keyloggers and infostealer malware before credentials can be compromised.
ON DATA EXFILTRATION DETECTION
Krypton Firewall Log & Access (KFLA) and Krypton Enterprise AI Insight (KEAI) work together to detect abnormal data access and movement in real time. KFLA provides continuous monitoring and audit-ready logging, while KEAI applies behavioral analytics and predictive intelligence to identify unusual activities—such as large data transfers—and trigger automated responses like alerts or session isolation. Together, they enhance threat detection, incident response, and forensic readiness for BFSI organizations.
ON AI-DRIVEN / AUTONOMOUS ATTACKS
NPAV's Krypton Enterprise AI Insight (KEAI) combines AI-driven threat detection, behavioral analytics, predictive intelligence, and automated response to identify adaptive cyber threats beyond traditional signature-based methods. Complementing this, Krypton Encryption Manager (KEM) enforces policy-based encryption across endpoints, servers, and removable devices, ensuring data remains protected even if attackers bypass initial defenses. Together, they provide a layered security approach against evolving AI-driven attacks, although the underlying machine learning techniques are not detailed in the presentation.
ON DETECTION SPEED AND RESPONSE
This is the one area the presentation materials don't quantify. The deck references "real-time monitoring" and "automated response" as design goals across KFLA
and KEAI, but it doesn't publish specific MTTD (mean-time-to-detect) or MTTR (mean-time-to-respond) benchmarks for an account-takeover scenario. Given the earlier questions we discussed around the Bank of Baroda breach, this is actually the most important number to press NPAV on directly — ideally with reference to independent testing (similar to how their endpoint protection carries AV-Test, VB100, OPSWAT, and West Coast Labs certifications) rather than vendor-stated figures alone.
ON REGULATORY AND SECTOR-SPECIFIC FIT
Net Protector (NPAV)'s Krypton Firewall Log & Access (KFLA) is purpose-built for the BFSI sector, offering compliance-ready log management, monitoring, and audit reporting aligned with RBI cybersecurity expectations.
Krypton Encryption Manager (KEM) strengthens data protection through encryption and audit capabilities.
