Never before have engineers been able to get their industrial designs to market so fast. Maxim Integrated(NASDAQ:MXIM) has released three new low-power reference designs  Carmel, Monterey and Fremont  which are developed to provide end-to-end integration of the signal chain and will help simplify factory automation.

The Carmel, Monterey and Fremont industrial reference designs are tested subsystems, complete with schematics, layout files and firmware, and are available for immediate use and customization. Each reference design integrates multiple functions to provide a highly accurate solution for an automated factory task.

Carmel is ideal for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS). It is ideal for distributed industrial sensor systems. The Fremont design is made for low-voltage output sensors, and process control and medical applications.

David Andeen, Reference Design Manager, Maxim Integrated, said, Analog integration is accelerating factory automation. With these reference designs, engineers can get to market faster with the latest analog technology in designs that make factories more efficient.

We continue to see strong demand for reference systems and subsystems that feature high-performance analog. Maxim’s innovative designs, coupled with systems like the ZedBoard, make a perfect match for today’s engineering challenges, said Jim Beneke, Vice-President of Global Technical Marketing, Avnet Electronics Marketing.

Available for purchase, each board ensures rapid prototyping, early software development and speed of design.
