McAfee launches Deepfake Detector in India on select PCs based on Microsoft's Copilot+ platform

McAfee has launched its AI-powered Security Solutions in the name of McAfee Deepfake Detector service in India. The feature uses on-device AI processing on select devices compatible with Microsoft's Copilot Plus PC platform to identify and alert users of possible deepfake content. The company said that it has worked with several OEMs to optimise its deepfake detection capabilities for consumers in India. The launch is aimed at combating the growing threat of manipulated digital content. The tool is available on select PCs that leverage Microsoft's Copilot+ platform, marking a significant step toward safeguarding users from the risks posed by advanced AI-generated media.

Deepfakes, created using artificial intelligence, manipulate audio, video, and images to create hyper-realistic but deceptive content. These can range from fake videos of public figures to falsified personal conversations. The implications are vast, spanning from political misinformation to corporate espionage and identity theft.
