Meta’s appointment of Aman Jain as Head of Public Policy strengthens its India leadership team as the company deepens engagement with regulators, supports emerging technologies and navigates fast-evolving digital governance frameworks.
Meta India has announced the appointment of Aman Jain as its new Head of Public Policy, marking a significant addition to the company’s leadership structure. Jain will assume the role early next year and report directly to Simon Milner, Meta’s Vice President of Policy for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
As part of his mandate, Jain will also become a member of Meta India’s core leadership team, contributing to policy strategy at a time when the country’s regulatory landscape is evolving rapidly. Meta said in a statement that Jain brings more than two decades of experience across public policy, technology, and business strategy.
His professional background spans leading global organisations and public institutions. At Google India, Jain held key public policy roles, including serving as Country Head for Government Affairs and Public Policy. He most recently worked at Amazon as Director of Public Policy, where he oversaw policy direction on areas such as marketplace frameworks, competition issues, and technology-led innovation.
Jain has also collaborated closely with the Indian government and international bodies, giving him extensive insight into policymaking across digital, economic, and regulatory domains.
Strengthening Meta’s policy engagement in a fast-growing digital market
Welcoming the appointment, Simon Milner said India remains one of Meta’s most strategic markets, particularly as the country accelerates investments in artificial intelligence, emerging technology infrastructure, and creator-led digital businesses. He noted that Jain’s experience would be invaluable as Meta aims to contribute to a “more inclusive, trusted, and future-ready internet ecosystem” in India.
Milner added that Jain will play a key role not only in India but also as part of Meta’s broader APAC policy leadership team, helping steer engagement with regulators, industry bodies, and government stakeholders across the region.
Jain’s appointment comes at a time when global technology companies are deepening their policy outreach in India amid rapid digitisation, evolving data governance norms, and growing scrutiny of online platforms.See What’s Next in Tech With the Fast Forward Newsletter
