2025-12-12
Microsoft’s new alliances with India’s leading IT firms will roll out more than 200,000 Copilot licenses, driving large-scale agentic AI adoption and reshaping enterprise workflows, innovation models and productivity standards worldwide.
Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella has announced strategic collaborations with four of India’s largest technology services companies—Cognizant, Infosys, TCS and Wipro—to accelerate the adoption of agentic AI across global enterprises. Each company will deploy more than 50,000 Microsoft Copilot licenses, taking the collective tally past 200,000 and marking one of the largest coordinated AI rollouts in the world.
This development follows Microsoft’s declaration of a US$17.5 billion investment into India’s cloud and AI ecosystem over CY2026–2029, aimed at strengthening infrastructure, skilling talent and expanding operational capabilities.
Driving frontier firm transformation across industries
The partnerships aim to embed Microsoft 365 Copilot and agentic AI systems into the operational fabric of the four IT powerhouses. By redesigning workflows around human-agent collaboration, these organizations are moving toward becoming Frontier Firms—companies that integrate AI deeply into decision-making, delivery, finance, HR, sales and customer engagement processes.

Microsoft says this coordinated rollout will help enterprises unlock new levels of productivity, efficiency and innovation, supported by intelligent agents capable of taking initiative, generating insights and autonomously driving business outcomes.
Puneet Chandok, President, Microsoft India & South Asia, highlighted the significance of the alliances, stating, “Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro aren’t just embracing AI—they’re setting the global pace. These global enterprises are moving beyond experimentation to full-scale deployment, embedding Microsoft Copilot into the fabric of everyday work.”
Cognizant: Driving intelligent decision-making at scale
Cognizant and Microsoft have expanded their long-standing partnership to deliver enterprise-wide generative AI and Copilot capabilities to millions of users. As the “client zero” for Copilot, Cognizant has played a key role in refining AI-driven workflows for global clients.
Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant, said, “As an AI builder company, our mission is to bridge the gap between these investments and extracting business value. Our collaboration with Microsoft and investment in Copilot are creating new opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and growth.”
Infosys: Operationalizing multi-agent workflows
Infosys is advancing its Frontier Firm strategy with one of the world’s largest Copilot deployments. By integrating Microsoft’s Intelligence Layer with Infosys Topaz Fabric and Infosys Cobalt, the company is building multi-agent workflows aimed at strengthening agility and insight-driven decision-making.

Salil Parekh, CEO & MD of Infosys, said, “By deploying Copilot at scale and embedding AI deeply into our operating model, we are shifting from traditional workflows to a human+ agent powered AI-first enterprise.”
TCS: Transforming HR, finance and sales with AI
TCS is using Microsoft Cloud, data and AI technologies to enhance internal functions and elevate developer productivity through Microsoft 365 Copilot and GitHub Copilot. TCS has also introduced a personalized AI Coach for every employee and recently conducted a global hackathon with over 281,000 participants.
K Krithivasan, CEO & MD of TCS, stated, “At TCS, we are building a future-ready organization… Microsoft Cloud, data, and AI technologies are integral to our business transformation.”
Wipro: Embedding AI deeply across client solutions
Wipro is advancing its three-year strategic partnership with Microsoft by establishing a Microsoft Innovation Hub at its Partner Labs in Bengaluru. With more than 50,000 Copilot licenses deployed, Wipro is embedding agentic AI across workflows spanning financial services, retail, manufacturing and healthcare.
Srini Pallia, CEO & MD of Wipro Limited, said, “Our partnership with Microsoft amplifies this vision, accelerating the adoption of agentic AI, and unlocking value for our clients and us.”
Together, Microsoft and its Frontier Firm partners are reshaping enterprise transformation, setting the pace for global adoption of agentic AI and defining the next phase of intelligent, human-in-the-loop innovation across industries.
