The Global CEO conclave held at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) was attended by 200 top CEOs. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the conclave where industry leaders like Mukesh Ambani, Sunil Bharti Mittal, Deepak Parekh, Maarten Wetselaar of Shell group, among others, discussed issues with the PM and Union finance minister Arun Jaitley. US secretary of state, John Kerry, and World Bank president Jim Yong Kim also addressed the CEOs.
Pitching India as a global manufacturing hub, Modi stressed on clean industrial practices along with ensuring quality products. The PM signed off with Robert Frost’s quotes: “The woods are lovely, dark and deep... but I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep.â€
John Kerry said the challenge is not just to build businesses but to build communities. He also cited the example of Tata Group, which he said has transformed a hotel in Boston into a landmark.
