Monster Employment Index has announced that its Index level rises five percent from a year ago in August. Shipping/Marine continues to record the highest growth, while Printing and Packaging sector also records strong annual growth. Government/PSU/Defense has recorded double digit negative decline. Demand for Arts/ Creative professionals have exhibited highest annual gain, followed by Senior Management professionals. Coimbatore has registered the strongest annual growth for the sixth month in a row and Bangalore is said to be the strongest annual gainer among major metro-markets
Sanjay Modi, MD, Monster.com (India/ Middle- East/ South East Asia) said, “Monster Employment Index continues to grow at a moderate pace owing to the cautious sentiment amongst employers in the current economic scenario. Some of the major sectors like Telecom, Production and Manufacturing are showing year-on-year decline. However, some other prominent sectors like Engineering; Automotive/; Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals; Retail; Shipping/Marine are showing increased recruitment activity.”
