The entertainment industry is in shock following the sudden death of actress-model and "Bigg Boss 13" contestant Shefali Jariwala, 42, on June 27. While initial reports pointed to a cardiac arrest, the exact cause of death remains unclear, fueling a growing mystery.
Shefali reportedly collapsed in her 11th-floor apartment in Lokhandwala, Andheri (W), on Thursday evening. Her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, 49, rushed her to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her body was then transferred to Cooper Hospital for an autopsy.
Despite the completed post-mortem, the cause of death is still unknown. Authorities at Cooper Hospital have reserved their opinion, preserving blood and viscera samples for further forensic examination. The autopsy was videographed as per standard protocol. Police officials stated they found nothing suspicious in the initial examination and no foul play has been reported, though investigations are ongoing.
Sources indicate Shefali had a history of epilepsy and was reportedly taking anti-aging pills. Police have recorded statements from eight individuals, including her husband and domestic staff, and an accidental death report has been filed by the Amboli Police. Minister of State for Home, Yogesh Kadam, confirmed the ongoing investigation, stating any suspicion of foul play or complaints would be thoroughly pursued.
Shefali Jariwala gained fame for her role in the 2002 superhit music video "Kaanta Laga." She and her husband, married since 2014, did not have children, and Shefali had openly expressed her long-held dream of adopting a baby girl.
