2010-08-26
NASSCOM Foundation's MyKartavya, an employee volunteerism portal has joined hands with its partner DASSAULT SYSTEMES to reach out to the underserved across the country. With initiation from NASSCOM Foundation, Dassault Systemes gave its employees their maiden exposure into volunteerism through its first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) foray in the months of July and August 2010.
The beneficiaries of this CSR activity included the NGO's Mobile Crèches, Abilashrayam Trust and Bhumi in Gurgoan, Banglore and Chennai respectively.
Employees of Dassault Systemes in Gurgaon opened doors of their office to children from Mobile Crèches, an NGO that works for children of construction workers. They shared their joy with children as they spent time watching a film, eating pizza and participating in a drawing competition.
In Bangalore, the employees organized a collection drive to help Abilashrayam Trust collect pillows, blankets, groceries and electronic items for their orphanage and old age home. In Chennai the employees got together with Bhumi, an NGO that works for orphans and underprivileged children. The volunteers organized an Origami workshop, which was followed by a painting session.
Prashant Pandit, Manager MyKartavya, NASSCOM Foundation said, "It's heartening to see Dassault Systemes take its first step towards making a change in society. I hope with this starts a revolution of a kind that motivates other companies to follow suit."
Aruna Diwakar, Secretary, Abilashrayam Trust, stated "MyKartavya is the right platform for the growing NGOs to get exposure to the corporate contacts and get volunteers to do service to mankind"
