NetApp has expanded its foray into the eastern region, with the opening of an office in Kolkata in the State of West Bengal as part of its expansion plans in India. The Eastern metropolis is to act as the regional hub for the company's expansion plans across the Eastern region of the country, which has witnessed high economic growth over the past few years. This is believed to be the NetApp India's first centre in East India.
NetApp India's office in Kolkata is to focus principally on finding and evaluating attractive large and mid-market opportunities in East India with more customers rethinking their IT infrastructure and evaluating alternatives to cope with the new realities of today's business growth and pace. NetApp India already has its presence in Bangalore, New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune, and Kolkata will be its seventh office in India.
Simon Green, VP & GM, NetApp Asia Pacific said, "The decision to start our operations in Kolkata is part of our strategic expansion plan in India that we believe will help customers in this region capitalize on new opportunities, go to market faster and innovate ahead of the competition. With a skilled talent pool and favourable State policy acting as a catalyst, this region has been witnessing a spurt in technology adoption across segments. "We are very excited to be present in Kolkata, and are looking forward to working closely with customers in this region."
NetApp is said to be working closely with the channel ecosystem to address the customer requirements in the East region. While East of India will be covered through partners like HCL Infosystems & Wipro, Bangladesh will be covered with partners like Spectrum and Thakral.
