New Era has secured full ownership of its West Texas data centre, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion strategy and strengthening its position in the rapidly growing digital infrastructure market.
The move follows New Era’s acquisition of the remaining stake from its joint-venture partner, giving the company complete operational and strategic control over the facility. While financial terms were not disclosed, the transaction underscores New Era’s long-term commitment to scaling high-performance data centre assets in key U.S. markets.
Located in West Texas, the data centre benefits from access to affordable energy, ample land availability, and proximity to major network routes. These advantages make the region increasingly attractive for hyperscalers, cloud service providers, and AI-driven workloads that demand resilient, cost-efficient infrastructure.
With full ownership, New Era plans to accelerate capacity expansion, enhance energy efficiency, and introduce advanced cooling and power management technologies. The company is also expected to align the facility more closely with sustainability goals, leveraging renewable energy sources that are abundant in the region.
Industry analysts note that full control allows operators to respond faster to customer demand, optimize capital deployment, and streamline decision-making—critical factors as data centre requirements evolve with AI, high-performance computing, and edge deployments.
The acquisition comes amid strong growth in data centre investments across the United States, driven by surging demand for cloud services, generative AI, and data-intensive applications. West Texas, in particular, is emerging as a strategic hub due to its power availability and favorable economics.
For New Era, gaining full ownership of the West Texas data centre not only strengthens its asset base but also positions the company to capture rising enterprise and hyperscale demand in the next phase of digital infrastructure growth.
