Even though there is a freeze in all corporates in terms of their international travels, Plustek, the Taiwan-based manufacturer, views it in a different way and takes the slowdown as a positive sign for them.
Dr. Karen Ku, Vice-President, Plustek, visited India recently to review the entire market and was quite satisfied with the way the Indian market responded to their products. Speaking to VARIndia, Dr. Karen said she looks at India from the opportunity perspective and they are focussed on investing in various activities, including media campaigns, road shows, technical seminars, partner meets, participating in exhibitions, etc. to make their brand reach near the channel partners and the users. Today, Plustek deals with three distributors, i.e. Intratech, Fujitsan and OMR, which is an Agra-based company, and there are nearly 2,000 resellers across the country who deal in various Plustek products. However, Plustek is keen to broad-base their operations across the country with more distributors and partners.
According to her, “Beginning next year, they are going to launch a number of products in both security and image space.”
Dr. Karen adds, “We can provide the best cost performance products. Most of our products are innovative, sleek and smart. At times, we feel only ourselves as the competitors because the products we bring out are quite niche, which the competition does not have and we need to tell people the features and performance of those products.”
