The actor has urged followers to remain cautious online after a fraudulent profile surfaced claiming to represent him, with his team initiating steps to identify the person behind the account and prevent misuse of his identity.
Actor R. Madhavan has issued a public warning to fans after discovering a fake social media account impersonating him and attempting to communicate with people in his name. The actor shared the alert through his official Instagram handle, cautioning followers against interacting with the fraudulent profile.
In his post, Madhavan clarified that the account has no association with him or his team and urged fans to remain vigilant. He emphasised that no other profile represents him or speaks on his behalf across social media platforms.

“FRAUD ALERT… THIS PERSON IS NOT CONNECTED TO ME OR MY TEAM IN ANY WAY. THEY CLAIM TO PRESENT ME AND SPEAK TO PEOPLE ON SOCIAL MEDIA ON MY BEHALF. THIS IS TOTALLY A FRAUD ACCOUNT KINDLY BE AWARE... NO other account either represents me nor speaks on my behalf on Instagram or any social media. PLS NOTE AND BE AWARE.. Appropriate steps are being taken to hold this person accountable.. @rohanmyra2 @instagram,” the actor wrote in his post.
Actor urges fans to stay alert online
To help followers identify the impersonator, Madhavan also posted a screenshot of the suspicious account. He stated that the matter is being taken seriously and that necessary actions are underway to trace the individual responsible and address the misuse of his identity online.
Instances of fake celebrity accounts on social media have become increasingly common, with scammers often attempting to mislead fans by pretending to represent public figures. Madhavan’s warning is aimed at ensuring his followers do not fall victim to such fraudulent activity.
Focus on upcoming film projects
On the professional front, Madhavan was last seen playing Intelligence Bureau director Ajay Sanyal in the film Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar. In earlier interviews, the actor described the filming experience as emotionally intense, noting that several scenes carried a heavy atmosphere that sometimes made the cast feel as though they were reliving real historical moments.
He also recalled a powerful moment on set involving Akshaye Khanna and Arjun Rampal, whose performance in one sequence left a lingering emotional impact even after the scene concluded.
Madhavan is now preparing for the release of the sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is scheduled to arrive in theatres on March 19, 2026.
