Riverbed Recognized as a “Leader” for WAN Optimization

Riverbed Technology has announced its position as a “Leader” in Gartner’s 2014 “Magic Quadrant for WAN Optimization.” This is the seventh year that Riverbed has been recognized as a leader in the WO Magic Quadrant, and the third Magic Quadrant in which Riverbed holds a leadership position including the Magic Quadrants for Application Performance Monitoring and Network Performance Monitoring and Diagnostics. In addition, Riverbed is positioned as a “Visionary” in the 2013 Magic Quadrant for Application Delivery Controllers.

“Riverbed is proud to be recognized by Gartner for the seventh consecutive year as a leader for wan optimization,” said Paul O’Farrell, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Steelhead Business Unit. “Steelhead launched the WAN Optimization market 10 years ago and has set the standard for the industry continuously for a decade with over 50% market share and unmatched performance and true ease-of-use. Steelhead is the only app acceleration solution that is part of a complete platform, the Riverbed Application Performance Platform – that detects and helps customers resolve application performance and data delivery issues before an end user even notices a problem or calls the help desk to complain.”

For over 10 years, Riverbed has been driving the success of its customers by optimizing business-critical applications that must perform consistently across a global footprint. Riverbed pioneered WAN optimization in 2004 with unique innovations for application and data streamlining across the WAN and Internet to deliver the best end-user experience regardless of location, network or device while dramatically reducing network bandwidth.
With Steelhead, SaaS apps can be delivered up to 33x faster while using 97% less bandwidth. As a result, Steelhead has become critical to Microsoft Office 365 deployments with over one million users being accelerated to date.
